Information You Provide Directly

When you use Tr.Ai.N, you may provide us with the following information:

• Fitness level

Health & Fitness Data:

• Workout preferences (equipment access, days per week, duration)
• Strength baselines (estimated 1-rep max for exercises)
• Lifestyle factors (sleep hours, stress level, activity level)
• Workout completion logs and ratings
• Exercise preferences and modifications
• Hydration tracking data

Communication Data:

• Messages you send to the AI trainer
• Feedback and notes you provide

Date of Birth:

• We collect your date of birth (not just your age).
• Your date of birth is used to compute your current age so the AI trainer can provide age-appropriate coaching.
• We use your date of birth to verify that you are 17 years of age or older.
• Your date of birth is stored locally on your device only.

Device Information:

• Device identifier (for rate limiting purposes only)
• Device type and operating system version
• App version

Usage Data:

• Features used within the app

How We Use Your Information

2. Power AI Conversations: Your messages and fitness data are sent to our AI service to provide personalized responses from your virtual trainer.

3. Track Your Progress: We store your workout logs, achievements, and feedback to show your fitness journey over time.

4. Improve Our Service: We may analyze anonymized, aggregated usage patterns to improve the app experience.

5. Enforce Rate Limits: Device identifiers are used to prevent abuse and ensure fair access to our AI services.

Health Data from Apple Health

With your permission, Tr.Ai.N reads health data from Apple HealthKit to personalize your coaching experience.

• What we read: With your explicit permission, Tr.Ai.N reads health data from Apple HealthKit, including heart rate variability, sleep, steps, recent workouts, weight, and resting heart rate.
• How we use it: This data is used to inform the AI trainer's coaching, such as recovery recommendations and workout intensity adjustments.
• Where it's stored: HealthKit data is stored locally on your device only.
• Sharing with the AI service: Snapshots of your HealthKit data may be sent as context to the AI service when you chat with your trainer.
• No sale or advertising: Apple HealthKit data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.
• Revoking access: You can revoke HealthKit access at any time via iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Tr.Ai.N.

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

Most of your personal data is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms:

• Profile information
• Workout plans and logs
• Chat history
• Goals and habits
• Achievement progress

Cloud Services

When you interact with the AI trainer, the following data is transmitted to our secure backend:

• Your current message
• Relevant context (profile summary, current goals, recent activity)

We use:

• Cloudflare Workers: For API proxying and rate limiting
• Anthropic Claude API: For AI-powered responses

Security Measures

• All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
• API keys are stored server-side, never in the app
• Rate limiting protects against abuse
• No passwords or authentication credentials are stored

Third-Party Services

Anthropic (Claude AI)

We use Anthropic's Claude AI to power the trainer conversations. When you chat with your trainer:

• Your messages and relevant fitness context are sent to Anthropic
• Anthropic processes this data to generate responses
• Anthropic's data handling is governed by their Privacy Policy

ExerciseDB API

We use ExerciseDB to provide exercise demonstration GIFs:

• Only exercise names are sent to this service
• No personal data is transmitted

Cloudflare

We use Cloudflare Workers for our backend services:

• Device identifiers are temporarily stored for rate limiting
• No personal fitness data is stored on Cloudflare

Subscription and Payment Data

Tr.Ai.N may offer paid subscriptions in the future. When subscription functionality is available:

• Payment processing will be handled by Apple via the App Store and a subscription management service (RevenueCat)
• We do not store credit card numbers, bank account details, or other payment credentials
• We may receive non-sensitive subscription metadata (subscription tier, renewal status, anonymized transaction IDs) for service functionality
• Refunds for App Store subscriptions are handled by Apple per Apple's standard refund policy

Data Retention

Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or clear app data.

Rate Limiting Data: Device identifiers for rate limiting are retained for up to 24 hours on our servers.

AI Conversation Data: Messages sent to the AI service are processed in real-time and are subject to Anthropic's data retention policies.

Your Rights and Choices

Access and Deletion

Since most data is stored locally on your device:

• You can view all your data within the app (profile, goals, workout history)
• Deleting the app removes all locally stored data
• To request deletion of any server-side data, contact us at the email below

Opt-Out

You may stop using the app at any time. There are no accounts to delete since we don't require registration.

Data Portability

Currently, we do not offer data export functionality. This may be added in future updates.

Children's Privacy

Tr.Ai.N requires users to be at least 17 years old. We verify age via date of birth collection during onboarding and block users who do not meet the minimum age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top
• Providing in-app notification for significant changes

Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
