Welcome to Tr.Ai.N ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using Tr.Ai.N, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

When you use Tr.Ai.N, you may provide us with the following information:

Profile Information:

• Name
• Biological sex
• Height and weight
• Fitness level
• Fitness goals

Health & Fitness Data:

• Workout preferences (equipment access, days per week, duration)
• Strength baselines (estimated 1-rep max for exercises)
• Lifestyle factors (sleep hours, stress level, activity level)
• Workout completion logs and ratings
• Exercise preferences and modifications
• Hydration tracking data

Communication Data:

• Messages you send to the AI trainer
• Feedback and notes you provide

Date of Birth:

• We collect your date of birth (not just your age).
• Your date of birth is used to compute your current age so the AI trainer can provide age-appropriate coaching.
• We use your date of birth to verify that you are 17 years of age or older.
• Your date of birth is stored locally on your device only.

Information Collected Automatically

Device Information:

• A device identifier generated by the app on first launch, used for rate limiting and abuse prevention only
• Device model, operating system version, app version, locale and country, collected by RevenueCat's subscription SDK

Crash and performance reports: If the app crashes, a crash report is sent to Sentry, our error-monitoring provider. It contains technical details of the failure (the error, the app version, your device model and iOS version) and a short trail of the app's internal events leading up to it. For a sample of sessions, Sentry also receives performance timings — how long the app took to launch or to move between screens — so we can find slow spots. We have deliberately kept your name, your messages to the trainer, and your health and profile values out of these reports, so they describe what the app was doing, not what you were doing. Each report carries an identifier for your installation so that repeated crashes on one device can be grouped together.

We do not run analytics. Tr.Ai.N does not transmit product interaction data — screens you view, features you use, time spent in the app, or workout sessions started and completed — to us or to any third party.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

1. Provide Personalized Fitness Guidance: Your profile, fitness data, and preferences are used to generate customized workout plans, nutrition suggestions, and training advice.

2. Power AI Conversations: Your messages and fitness data are sent to our AI service to provide personalized responses from your virtual trainer.

3. Track Your Progress: We store your workout logs, achievements, and feedback to show your fitness journey over time.

4. Enforce Rate Limits: Device and user identifiers are used to prevent abuse and ensure fair access to our AI services.

Health Data from Apple Health

With your permission, Tr.Ai.N reads health data from Apple HealthKit to personalize your coaching experience.

• What we read: With your explicit permission, Tr.Ai.N reads health data from Apple HealthKit, including heart rate variability, sleep, steps, recent workouts, weight, and resting heart rate.
• How we use it: This data is used to inform the AI trainer's coaching, such as recovery recommendations and workout intensity adjustments.
• Where it's stored: HealthKit data is stored locally on your device only.
• Sharing with the AI service: A snapshot of your recent HealthKit data is sent as context to the AI service each time you chat with your trainer. In addition, when your question is about a trend — how you have been sleeping this week, how your HRV has moved lately — your trainer can request up to 30 days of your recent history for a specific measure (nightly sleep, daily steps, completed workouts, resting heart rate, HRV, or weight readings), and those readings are sent to the AI service to answer that question.
• No sale or advertising: Apple HealthKit data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.
• Revoking access: You can revoke HealthKit access at any time via iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Tr.Ai.N.

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

Most of your personal data is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms:

• Profile information
• Workout plans and logs
• Chat history
• Goals and habits
• Achievement progress

Cloud Services

When you interact with the AI trainer, the following data is transmitted to our secure backend and on to our AI provider:

• Your current message and the recent conversation history
• Your profile: first name, age, biological sex, height, weight, fitness level and goals
• Your lifestyle answers (sleep, stress, activity level) and any strength baselines you entered
• A snapshot of your recent Apple Health data, and your recent health history when your question calls for it
• Preferences and constraints your trainer has learned from earlier conversations

We use:

• Cloudflare Workers: For API proxying and rate limiting
• Anthropic Claude API: For AI-powered responses

Security Measures

• All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
• API keys are stored server-side, never in the app
• Rate limiting protects against abuse
• No passwords or authentication credentials are stored

Third-Party Services

Anthropic (Claude AI)

We use Anthropic's Claude AI to power the trainer conversations. When you chat with your trainer:

• Your messages and relevant fitness context are sent to Anthropic
• Anthropic processes this data to generate responses
• Anthropic's data handling is governed by their Privacy Policy

Sentry

We use Sentry to receive crash reports and performance timings so we can find and fix bugs:

• A crash report is sent when the app crashes or hits an unexpected error; performance timings are sent for a sample of sessions
• Reports contain technical details and device information, not your name, messages, or health data
• Sentry's handling of this data is governed by their Privacy Policy

Exercise Demonstrations

Exercise demonstrations are served from our own content delivery network:

• The exercise database ships inside the app, so exercise searches happen on your device and are not sent anywhere
• Demonstration animations are requested from our CDN by exercise ID only
• No personal data is transmitted

Cloudflare

We use Cloudflare Workers for our backend services:

• Device identifiers are temporarily stored for rate limiting
• No personal fitness data is stored on Cloudflare

Subscription and Payment Data

Tr.Ai.N offers paid subscriptions.

• All payment processing is handled by Apple via the App Store. We never see, receive, or store your credit card number, bank account details, or other payment credentials.
• We use RevenueCat, a subscription management service, to determine whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an app-generated identifier for your installation along with subscription metadata (subscription tier, purchase and renewal status, and transaction identifiers issued by Apple).
• We use this information only to unlock the features you have paid for and to support you if a purchase does not go through. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.
• RevenueCat's handling of this data is governed by their Privacy Policy.
• Refunds for App Store subscriptions are handled by Apple per Apple's standard refund policy.

Data Retention

Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or clear app data.

Rate Limiting Data: Device and user identifiers used for rate limiting are retained for up to 25 hours in our rate-limit store. They may also appear in short-lived server logs kept by our hosting provider.

AI Conversation Data: Messages sent to the AI service are processed in real-time and are subject to Anthropic's data retention policies.

Crash and Performance Reports: Retained by Sentry for 90 days, then deleted.

Your Rights and Choices

Access and Deletion

Since most data is stored locally on your device:

• You can view all your data within the app (profile, goals, workout history)
• Deleting the app removes all locally stored data
• To request deletion of any server-side data, contact us at the email below

Opt-Out

You may stop using the app at any time. There are no accounts to delete since we don't require registration.

Data Portability

Currently, we do not offer data export functionality. This may be added in future updates.

Children's Privacy

Tr.Ai.N requires users to be at least 17 years old. We verify age via date of birth collection during onboarding and block users who do not meet the minimum age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top
• Providing in-app notification for significant changes

Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

International Users
